BoostBox H2

The 7th generation BoostBox H2 system is a ruggedized 18″x16″x14″ box made of recycled and recyclable materials. Inside, the top half houses our technology and the bottom half is a water reservoir which holds enough water for around 2500 miles of on road use.  This reliable system has a single moving part, a Swiss military grade diaphragm pump.  On-the-road use is as simple as adding distilled water.

A typical installation takes 3 hours to mount the box on the catwalk behind the cab or on the chassis rail, as well as add an in-dash display for the driver to monitor the system.

The BoostBox H2 system is designed as an aftermarket installation for trucking industry, but can be modified for other industrial or commercial applications including construction, agricultural, diesel pick-ups, class 8 trucks, box trucks, and buses.

Fuel Cell

System

  • Proprietary central processor (CPU) controls & monitors all functions for optimal hydrogen production & automatic system protection
  • CPU regulates the precise delivery of hydrogen and oxygen to the engine
  • There is NO STORAGE of Hydrogen on pressurization, it is produced and used on demand.
  • Design includes a failsafe auto start /auto shutdown.  If a problem occurs in the BoostBoxH2, the engine will automatically revert to 100% diesel, the engine will not shut off engine or stop the truck.
  • On-dash display & controls for monitoring and operating BoostBoxH2
  • Water level, water temperature, and water purity sensors on-board
  • Temperature controlled with two built-in heaters so water will not freeze

How Does it Work?

Normally, fuel is ignited several degrees before the beginning of the combustion/power stroke and is still burning when the piston reaches the bottom of the power stoke.  The remaining, unburnt fuel is jettisoned through the exhaust system (ETH Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich) in the form of hydrocarbon emissions. With BoostBox H2, the injection of the higher flame rate hydrogen acts as a combustion catalyst, to more completely combust the available diesel fuel faster, hotter and earlier in the power stroke.  This translates into:

 

  • An increase in TORQUE, and lower RPM  … bottom line, less fuel used.
  • For each gallon of diesel not used, 22.4 pounds of CO2 is NOT released into the atmosphere
  • A HIGHER COMBUSTION temperature reduces hydrocarbon particulate emissions
  • A FASTER COMBUSTION process means a cooler engine, resulting in an increase in the efficiency of the combustion process and less NOx gasses produced.
